Blood and Betrayal is an in-person improv drama and character-play workshop for 10 participants to roleplay as vampires in an immersive strategy game.
You’ll take on the role of an Elder vampire who represents the interests of their clan on a Primogen Council.
You’ve lived many human lifetimes, and by virtue of your age and an iron grip on power, you command a society of monsters.
Nothing threatens you, except for fire, sunlight and… your fellow Elders.
Our story begins with the assassination of the city’s ruler, Prince Hayam Wuruk, by parties unknown. Rumours of an uprising swirl in the courts, gaining support from younger, ambitious vampires from the Anarchs.
It’s time for you and your peers to appoint a new Prince and crush the rebellion.
What is Vampire the Masquerade?
Imagine a darker version of our world controlled by shadowy cabals, secret societies and supernatural creatures.
Vampires are undead monsters who claim blood lineage from the first murderer, Caine. They prey on the unwary, enslave the weak and influence the fate of nations and tribes to further their centuries-old agenda while pretending to be what they once were... human.
They hide amongst their prey, taking cover behind secrets, conspiracies and creating a widespread belief that vampires do not exist.
From the shadows, these immortals wage a covert war against each other, vying for blood, power and survival.
Vampire the Masquerade was created by Mark Rein-Hagen and all rights belong to White Wolf Publishing. Blood & Betrayal is a not-for-profit larp activity that is part of the Dark Pack.
Gameplay
Blood and Betrayal is a character play scenario that is best described as Larp + Mafia + Strategy game where 10 participants vie for control over the city during a power vacuum.
The Camarilla is the starting faction for all characters though some participants will be randomly assigned different allegiances - Camarilla Loyalist, Anarch Sympathiser and Sabbat Infiltrator.
Each character has:
- A special power that is usable once per game.
- Two schemes that affect the city
- A unique combination of three influence vote cards
Each game round consists of:
- Electing a Prince
- Roleplaying a crisis affecting the city
- Pitching schemes and solutions
- Voting and Sabotage
- Bloodhunting a character who is a suspected traitor
Characters
Here are the 10 characters with character bios that you can choose from. As this is an introduction to Vampire: the Masquerade and the World of Darkness, our larpwright has created a short backstory for each (but feel free to write your own!)
You are encouraged to come in costume, as it is up to you how you interpret your character, but it is not compulsory for this experience.
Players that are familiar with the Nusantara by Night storyline may find easter eggs but prior larping experience or knowledge of the timeline is not required. This workshop caters to all levels of participants.

Time
Doors open at 6.30pm, workshop begins promptly at 7pm, and ends by 11pm.
Parking
Public parking is available, within walking distance (6 min).
Safe Management Measures
Participants must be fully vaccinated and produce proof of vaccination status. Participants must remain masked unless they are acting and improvising while maintaining a safe distance. Main workshop space is well-ventilated and will be disinfected before and after each session. Staff members and trainers are fully vaccinated and will undergo Fast and Easy Testing (FET). No food will be served.
Age
Blood & Betrayal is a live action role playing workshop (LARP) with mature themes, language, and disturbing scenes. Players must be 18+ to attend.
Imaging
Players may not take videos or photographs of other participants without their permission and prior approval.
Attire
Some climbing may occur. Please wear flat shoes (no heels), avoid short skirts, and ensure that any loose parts of your costume can be secured when moving from scene to scene. Lighting conditions may be poor in certain scenes.
